Carolina Panthers are a team with a couple of glaring holes. This is said for the Panthers of course if they are able to re-sign two of their best linemen in OLT Jordan Gross and DE Julius Peppers. They were a pair of Pro Bowl starters last year. Football Picks stats are certainly going for a toss untill we get certain about it.
At present it appears that these two best won’t be around, but yes, Gross of course has the best shot at coming back considering Peppers is the one who has shown his frustration in the offseason. The Carolina Panthers will be without a first-round pick this year after trading their top choice to the Eagles during 2008’s draft to acquire an extra first-rounder that they used wisely on ORT Jeff Otah. Let us take a look at the top 5 draft needs for the Panthers and who the Panthers will most likely be able to get.
Defensive Tackle – Panthers was unable to replace DT Kris Jenkins after trading him to the Jets for draft picks in 2008.
Defensive End – About Peppers. Whether he is re-signed or else franchise tagged. It will be determined how big of a priority the defensive end position will be in this 2009 year draft.
Wide Receiver – Steve Smith. But yes, he could be so much more of a threat if Carolina would just get another one that can attract the attention.
Offensive Line – Losing Gross may make the offensive line positions of the Panthers a much bigger need.
Linebacker – The Panthers have a Pro Bowler at MLB in Jon Beason and a solid WLB in Thomas Davis.
