The long snapper of Carolina Panthers, Jason Kyle, for the last 8 seasons, has signed with the New Orleans Saints.
This in fact means that Carolina Panthers will go ahead with their experiment of using one of two rookies i.e. J.J. Jansen or Nick Sundberg. The club brought in three long snappers this off-season, but since then have cut Patrick McDonald.
The club was so tight under the salary cap they it did not made any offer to Kyle, who was an unrestricted free agent.
Jason Kyle had never a bad snap in this 8 seasons. He played in 128 games for the Panthers and 7th most in team history.
Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis said in a statement, “Jason is a quality veteran player and we saw in him a chance to upgrade our kicking game.” He also added, “I’ve known him since we drafted him in Seattle and going up against him twice a year for the last eight seasons with Carolina, he has always been impressive.”
