Julius Peppers is now with the Panthers. He signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers last day. He did this 5-months after the four-time Pro Bowler first said he wanted to play elsewhere next season.

Devensive end Julius Peppers is 29-year-old and is perhaps the highest-paid player in the NFL. His one-year tender is as high as $19.183 million this season. He is Panthers all-time sacks leader. He should be present for the start of training camp.

Julius Peppers had the best season of his career in 2008.

In an interview Peppers said, “I’ve had positive and productive discussions with the organization.” He added further, “I am optimistic and focused as I look forward to the upcoming NFL season.”

General manager Marty Hurney said, “We always go by actions. We’ve known Julius for seven years and he’s been the same guy for seven years. He’s a valuable, important player for us and we haven’t seen a change in that.”
