Panthers Sign Third Round Pick Godfrey
July 21, 2008
The Carolina Panthers singed the first of their third round draft selections today, Charles Godfrey. Though Gordfrey was drafted as a cornerback out of Iowa, he will be converted to saftey, where he is expected to start over Nate Salley and veteran Terrance Holt.
There is more information on Godfrey in our Position Analysis: Safety post.
With Godfrey signed, the only remaining picks to be signed are the two first round picks, Jonathan Stewart and Jeff Otah. With the Rams reaching a deal with Jake Long earlier today, the negotiations between the Panthers and Jeff Otah should speed up, and they could even reach a deal before training camp starts this Saturday.
