This may be the worst season of QB Jake Delhomme. The Panthers placed him on injured reserve with a broken finger on his throwing hand on Thursday. Hence, the season ends the worst for him as a pro and also as raising questions about the future of the player with the Carolina Panthers.
Delhomme, 34-year-old, said that he broke the knuckle on his middle finger on November 29 in a loss to the Jets. Since then the player has not played or also practiced.
Matt Moore started the last 3 games and he had threw for a career-high 299 yards and 3 touchdowns on Sunday against Minnesota giving a victory to the team.
Carolina Panthers also promoted QB Hunter Cantwell from the practice squad so that he can take the post of Delhomme.
Though Delhomme committed 6 turnovers in the Panthers’ playoff loss to Arizona in the month January, he received a lucrative contract extension in the off-season. The player next committed five turnovers in a blowout loss to the Philadelphia in the start of the season, and had 18 interceptions and 8 touchdown passes in total of eleven games and completing 55.5 percent of his passes.
