Connor out for the Season  | read this item

The Panthers lost middle linebacker, Dan Connor, for the rest of the season Sunday, after Connor tore his ACL during a special teams play.  Connor, who was drafted by the Panthers in the third round, was expected to backup Jon Beason at middle linebacker this season, but Adam Seward was able to win out the backup role instead.

Because the Panthers are really deep at linebacker, this really isn’t a huge loss, especially since Connor probably wouldn’t have seen much playing time, but there are always injuries and holes to be filled.  As long as the Panthers avoid any other injuries to that linebacking corps they’ll be just fine.  Let’s just hope this doesn’t turn out to be a reocurring issue, like with former Panthers linebacker Dan Morgan.
